AFP currently has more than 30,000 members in the state of Kansas. We are doing our best to keep you informed as to what’s going on in the local AFP chapter near you. Here’s a list of our upcoming events around the state.  

September 3

Join AFP Field Director Jim Mullins for an update on the cost of the proposed sales taxes for the city of Lawrence. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont Street. Other speakers include Bill Reynolds and Eric Haar. We plan to educate voters about the true cost of voting for the proposed sales tax, and to give the citizens of Lawrence a clear understanding of the implications of the increase and how it will affect their day-to-day lives.

September 4-5

AFP Field Director Jim Mullins plans several stops in southeast Kansas Sept. 4-5. Take a coffee break with AFP, or stop by for a meal at one of seven informal meetings in your area next week. We’d love to hear what concerns you have in your community.

September 5-14

AFP will set up an informational booth at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. If you make the trip to the fair, stop by our booth and meet AFP staff and volunteers.

September 13

We encourage those of you who are part of a political campaign to attend the Leadership Institute’s Grassroots Campaign School in Overland Park Sept. 13. Details are at www.leadershipinstitute.org.

September 19-20

AFP-New Jersey Director Steve Lonegan and State Senator Chris Steineger (D-Kansas City), along with several other invited guests will speak at the Put a Lid On It Tour, with stops in Dodge City and Pittsburg. More details are at www.afpks.org.
